Semester Two

Change.
One of my least favorite words.
I love sameness.

But I know change is good, and it has come.
Today I started my second semester of school.

Which means that I am no longer taking a photography class. It was a one semester deal. :'(

Many of you know that this blog was for school. Now that I'm no longer taking photography, this blog ceases to be an assignment, and I don't have time to post every other day.

THIS BLOG IS BY NO MEANS DONE.

I just wanted to let you know that this blog is no longer my top priority, so posts may not be as many in number.
I will continue posting 2-3 times a week. (You guys know that I tend to post alot of photos, so it takes a few days to load them all anyway! *wink*)

My photography class is over, but I will not stop taking photos. Don't worry about that. :)

Lots of thanks and brownies to my followers and faithful commenters. I DON'T want to lose you now.

I'LL KEEP POSTING!

And on another note, a web design course is stepping in where my photography course stepped out.
I have no idea if I will be posting anything online in regards to that soon, but we'll see.

:)

Kids Christmas Party | 3

Last segment of photos from the Christmas party.... :) I know it's a lot of photos to post...too many :S

Sadly, it began to rain during the performances.

Umbrellas & towels were pulled out, and the relocation began.

A few took cover under tents set up, while waiting for the rest to exit to the covered court.

Quieting the kids down... "Can you hear the rain?" :D

Another skit which involved the CUTEST baby of all time. :)

Distributing the food...

 ...and eating the food!

There were raffle prizes :)

 The Clean up!

Alright...the series is over :) No more giant posts for a while anyways :) !

5 Things I've Been Loving

Rain.
I believe rainy days are the closest we will get to winter weather here. Today is one of those lovely days. I drank hot chocolate this morning. And it is down to 79 degrees. It's beginning to feel like Christmas ;)

Our cat's new house.
Rain is one of her worst enemies. She retreats to the plastic bin outside our front door when it rains.
Who knew plastic could be so cozy?!

Christmas lights.
Pretty self-explanatory. We decorated a week ago, and I'm still having fun taking bokeh photos. I seriously need to learn how to take good Christmas tree photos without 'unfocusing' the photo ;)

This sign.
It is so utterly and ridiculously impossible that it makes me laugh when I see it. Brownie points for anyone willing to trade me some snow for our 90 degree weather. :P

Christmas music.
Playing it, singing it, listening to it....I've been doing all three and it is wonderful!

P.S. Check the link out for 25 days of free Christmas music on Amazon...fun fun fun :)

A Storm Brewing

My sister came running downstairs ten minutes ago and told me,
"Looks like a storm...the sky is almost black behind the house."

This is what I found.

I just noticed the tiny bird on top of the roof...see it?

Sure enough....I hear the rain now!

Rainy Days

Oh, how I love rainy days!

(check photo captions for what element of composition they are....)
element of composition: symmetry
It is pretty much the only time the weather cools down. And I get to wear rain boots :)
And take photos of wet things.

element of composition: depth of field, possibly lines
Wheeee! I love the above photo!!!

elements of composition: n/a (tsk tsk.... it's not a great photo)
 *sigh*
element of composition: depth of field,
Yes, dear readers, that IS a rain drop on my camera lens. Two drops to be exact. I didn't mean to get them on there. I cleaned the lens very carefully afterward. But I love the photo :D

element of composition: simple backgrounds (?)
And our cute kitty had her tail curled around her paw. Aw. Was she cold, or was she scared of my camera?

Does anyone else love rainy days?
