On the Lake

We stayed with some good friends of ours for a few days this past week...and they live on a lake!
They took us out in their boat, and we had so much fun! :)

July

Well, July has come, and you'd think sun and warmth would come with it. Not so where I am. Clouds. Rain. More clouds. Drizzly afternoon. Chilly wind. :P Quite a change from what I have lived with the past few years. But I am getting used to chillier temps, and hopefully warm weather is on the way!

I'm excited about fireworks to photograph later this week... :) There may be some photos up this weekend!

Ducks

We walked around a park today, and I had fun taking photos of some ducks :)

A few mallards....

Then came the nine ducklings. :)

They were adorable!

Marine Biology Field Trip

Last week we went on a marine biology field trip...out to the ocean to learn about the sea and the creatures that inhabit it. :)
It was a fun (but tiring day!) and here are the photos I promised you:

What a place to live...

We were taught about tides, water pressure, currents, and sea creatures by a dive instructor.

The water here is amazing....so clear! And when you look out over the ocean, you can see the different shades of blue where the depth of the water changes.

Have a wonderful week!

Boats at the Wharf

Sorry I haven't posted for a few days...I started off the new year with a pretty nasty fever/cold, but I'm doing much better now :)
Here are a few photos I took last week. Enjoy!

On a happy note, my first photo shoot is tomorrow morning.
I am very excited, (and a bit nervous) about getting to photograph three adorable sisters. :)
Have a lovely day!

Snorkeling

Living in a foreign country provides you with many interesting and often amazing opportunities.
Like snorkeling, in December (!) for instance.
We went on a boat trip yesterday, and lots of people snorkeled.

The reefs are lovely, and the water is so clear, you can actually see the reefs from above water.

Of course, you get a much better view if you have a snorkeling mask on. ;)

We've seen fish, eels, sea snakes, sea cucumbers, lovely coral, and schools of fish. Not to mention 3 or 4 different kinds of starfish!

Come visit and we'll take you snorkeling! Or scuba diving...if you like being that far underwater. *shiver*  I think 6 or 7 people dived on the boat trip yesterday. I'll post more photos from the boat trip soon :)

Creek Caution

Yikes.
I had no idea what might be down in that creek.

Crocodiles, piranhas, jellyfish, stingrays, sharks, killer crabs....

I didn't want to find out. I did walk carefully.

Illusions

Here are three photos I have taken recently.
I like them but they didn't really fit in any other post...

Trees reflected in a river.

Illusion: It's not really trees :) Just water that is reflecting them! Easy.

This needs a little more explaining. I took a photo looking up through a clump of leaves, but I purposely "unfocused" the photo, so the light looks like little round circles, and the rest is a blur.
(This trick can be especially beautiful on Christmas lights....I can't wait 'til Christmastime!)
Illusion: Hah! I'll bet you didn't even know what the photo was! *wink*

Whenever we have flowers around the house, I take photos of them. Once, I was taking photos on the railing of our deck, and the flower fell into the stone gutter about a yard down. Now I drop flowers down there just to photograph them because I love the surface. ;D

Illusion: Now, this one isn't completely fair, because I didn't do it with the camera. I did it on the computer. :S The rose was originally yellow, but I was editing the photo a bit, and to my great surprise, the rose turned PINK! Hm. I liked it better than the yellow one.

I know this was kind of a strange post. My apologies.
Hope you have a good day anyway. ;)
