Service Trip!

Swinging with friends on the rope course
Last week I went on a kind of mission trip with a group of around 60 high school students.
Here are a few photos from our adventure!

This is where we worked for a few days....helping back fill houses with dirt for local flood victims.
I worked at this church one day, chipping away at the concrete walls.
Hey, are you impressed?! I actually got in some of these photos ;D Thanks to friends who took photos of me!
The beach at the camp we stayed at.

There were some lovely sunsets...I'll be posting more photos of them later ;)

Braiding hair....
A glimpse of the camp we stayed at...
Water balloon wars! :D
Dinner
We pulled some great pranks...like stringing the openings of the bunkbeds. ;D
This cat was at one of the churches we worked at. I had never seen a cat with two different colored eyes, and this one was stunning!
Loading up the baggage for the ride home...
Love this photo!

We worked a ton, learned a lot, built some great relationships, and grew in Christ. It was a wonderful trip! :)

Cookies & Milk

I decided to try my hand at food photography today.
I made a batch of our favorite peanut butter chocolate chip cookies :)

(and wow, setting white balance is the hardest thing in food photography! That and trying to manually focus!)

:D I considered trying to stack as many cookies as I could on top of each other, but I was having enough trouble with just five...

Hungry?

Gingerbread

We baked gingerbread cookies yesterday. :)
It's a family tradition...one of my favorites!

 My sister's artistic decorating :)

My not-quite-as-artistic decorating. ;)

 "EAT ME!"

My brother's artistic decorating....androids, an android on a skateboard, and a red-nosed reindeer!

I'm not one for change...I love traditions :) Do you have favorite tradition?

to Paradise

We went to the beach today.
Yes, I'm afraid the title is a bit misleading.
The beach we went to is called Paradise ;)

We took a boat over to the island where the beach was... about a five minute trip. The floor of the boat was blue. :D

Nothing like, um a friend, uh, to hold your head in place!?
I have no idea what they are doing.

This is the boat we rode in... cool, isn't it!?

Palm trees as seen from the boat...

And here's the beach!

We rented a couple board/boat things to play around on for awhile... and did a little splashing around in the water. (Okay, a LOT of splashing around. We had fun :) )

Lunch was barbecue pork sticks and rice... (YUM!)

Some friends of ours ordered this weird desert. *shiver* I tried it once, and have no desire to try it again.

We took the boat back home a couple hours after lunch, and are enjoying a quiet afternoon now!
