2011 - Favorites

A very joyful and blessing-filled New Year to you all, one where you grow in the grace and knowledge of our Creator!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Snorkeling

Living in a foreign country provides you with many interesting and often amazing opportunities.
Like snorkeling, in December (!) for instance.
We went on a boat trip yesterday, and lots of people snorkeled.

The reefs are lovely, and the water is so clear, you can actually see the reefs from above water.

Of course, you get a much better view if you have a snorkeling mask on. ;)

We've seen fish, eels, sea snakes, sea cucumbers, lovely coral, and schools of fish. Not to mention 3 or 4 different kinds of starfish!

Come visit and we'll take you snorkeling! Or scuba diving...if you like being that far underwater. *shiver*  I think 6 or 7 people dived on the boat trip yesterday. I'll post more photos from the boat trip soon :)

We Wish You A...

Wishing all of you a wonderful day & season celebrating Christ's birth!

Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests.”
Luke 2:11-14

Park Lights

Earlier this week my family and I went out for dinner and then to a park to walk around and look at Christmas lights. My camera doesn't shoot well in low light situations, so I had to take photos on a slower shutter speed.
As a result,  many of my photos were blurry from an unsteady hand ;)

But I got some that were good, and it'll give you a little of an idea of what Christmas is like here!

I can't get over how wintry this photo looks.... but seriously, it was like 80 degrees outside. These are the only pine trees I've seen in this city!

Nothin' like a plastic Santa parachuting out of a tree to get you in the Christmas mood! ;P

Well, merry Christmas to all!

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

Gingerbread

We baked gingerbread cookies yesterday. :)
It's a family tradition...one of my favorites!

 My sister's artistic decorating :)

My not-quite-as-artistic decorating. ;)

 "EAT ME!"

My brother's artistic decorating....androids, an android on a skateboard, and a red-nosed reindeer!

I'm not one for change...I love traditions :) Do you have favorite tradition?
